Finance & Accounting Manager

Muttenz, Switzerland · 50% Part-time · On-site

The Finance & Accounting Manager is a part-time position (50%) based at Krieger AG's headquarters in Muttenz (BL).

You will be responsible for managing and monitoring Krieger's day-to-day financial and accounting activities while providing reliable financial information to support management decisions.

Working closely with the Managing Director and external financial and accounting partners, you will help ensure accurate financial records, effective cash-flow monitoring, timely reporting and appropriate financial controls.

This role is suited to an experienced, hands-on finance professional who is comfortable working independently within a dynamic SME environment and combining operational accounting with financial analysis and management reporting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's day-to-day accounting and financial administration.

  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Coordinate supplier and customer invoices, payments and outstanding receivables.

  • Prepare payment runs and ensure appropriate approval processes.

  • Monitor bank accounts and regularly reconcile financial transactions.

  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records.

  • Monitor cash flow and prepare short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts.

  • Provide management with visibility on liquidity, incoming payments and upcoming financial commitments.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and key financial indicators.

  • Support annual budgeting, financial forecasting and budget-versus-actual analysis.

  • Support project financial controlling, including costs, revenues, margins and payment milestones.

  • Monitor company expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.

  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities with external accountants and fiduciary partners.

  • Support statutory accounts, audits, tax-related activities, VAT administration and Swiss financial reporting requirements.

  • Maintain and improve internal financial processes, controls and documentation.

  • Support payroll-related financial administration with relevant internal or external partners.

  • Liaise with banks, auditors, fiduciaries, insurance providers and other external financial partners as required.

  • Support the Managing Director with ad-hoc financial analysis and strategic financial planning.

Your Profile

  • Professional qualification or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Controlling or a related field.

  • Several years of professional experience in accounting, finance or controlling.

  • Good knowledge of Swiss accounting practices and financial administration.

  • Experience within an SME, engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment is a strong advantage.

  • Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting and financial reconciliation.

  • Experience in cash-flow management, budgeting and financial forecasting.

  • Ability to prepare clear and reliable management reports and financial analyses.

  • Experience with project controlling or project-based manufacturing is an advantage.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems.

  • High level of accuracy, reliability and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise activities and meet financial deadlines.

  • High degree of confidentiality, integrity and responsibility when handling sensitive financial information.

  • Hands-on and solution-oriented working style.

  • Good German and English language skills; French or Italian is an advantage.

  • Swiss work experience and familiarity with the Swiss business environment are strong advantages.
