Sales & Business Development Manager – Pharma Process Equipment

The Sales & Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site position based at Krieger AG's headquarters in Muttenz (BL).
The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships and strengthening Krieger's position in international markets.
You will contribute across the entire commercial cycle, from market identification and lead generation through technical-commercial discussions, proposal preparation, negotiation and contract closing.
Working closely with the Managing Director, Engineering, Project Management and Service teams, you will help translate Krieger's technical capabilities into compelling commercial solutions for customers.
Your Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales and business development strategies aligned with Krieger's growth objectives.
Identify, qualify and develop new customers, projects and business opportunities in target markets.
Manage and develop existing customer relationships and key accounts.
Build and maintain a structured sales pipeline with systematic follow-up of leads, opportunities and quotations.
Manage the commercial process from initial customer contact through technical clarification, proposal development, negotiation and contract closing.
Work with Engineering and technical teams to develop customer-specific solutions and technically sound commercial proposals.
Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, quotations and commercial documentation.
Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities, technologies and market trends.
Support Krieger's international marketing and brand positioning strategy.
Develop marketing content and coordinate activities supporting lead generation and customer engagement.
Contribute to Krieger's digital presence, including the website and professional communication channels.
Represent Krieger at international trade fairs, exhibitions, customer meetings and industry events.
Develop relationships with international customers, agents, representatives and business partners.
Monitor commercial performance and report on pipeline, forecasts, opportunities, market developments and sales activities.
Work closely with the Managing Director to define priorities, target markets and strategic commercial initiatives.
Your Profile
Proven experience in technical B2B sales, business development or sales management, ideally within machinery, process equipment, pharmaceutical equipment, industrial automation or a related engineering industry.
Experience selling capital equipment, engineered systems or customized technical solutions is strongly preferred.
Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cosmetics, food or chemical industries is a strong advantage.
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships and convert opportunities into business.
Ability to understand complex technical solutions and clearly communicate their commercial value.
Experience managing the complete sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through proposal development, negotiation and closing.
Strong negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and technical specialists.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate markets, competitors and commercial opportunities.
Independent, proactive and results-oriented working style with strong organizational and project management skills.
Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences or a related field.
Good German and English language skills; French or Italian is an advantage.
Willingness to travel internationally for customer visits, project discussions, trade fairs and industry events.
