The Senior Mechanical Assembly Technician is a full-time, on-site position based at Krieger AG's headquarters in Muttenz (BL).

You will be responsible for the high-quality mechanical assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of Krieger's pharmaceutical and industrial process equipment.

Working independently from technical drawings, assembly documentation and engineering specifications, you will assemble complex mechanical systems and components according to Krieger's quality standards.

The position requires strong mechanical expertise, precision and the ability to identify and resolve technical issues throughout assembly and testing.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical assembly of Krieger machines, process equipment and related components.

• Independently read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, technical specifications and bills of materials.

• Assemble complex mechanical systems, including vessels, agitators, homogenizers, gearboxes, mechanical seals, piping assemblies and machine frames.

• Install and correctly position mechanical, pneumatic and process components.

• Perform precise fitting, alignment, adjustment and mechanical setting of components and assemblies.

• Carry out mechanical modifications and adjustments where required during assembly.

• Identify mechanical problems, determine root causes and implement corrective actions in coordination with Engineering.

• Perform dimensional and functional checks throughout the assembly process.

• Ensure assembled equipment complies with drawings, specifications and applicable quality requirements.

• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and machine testing.

• Support installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting at customer sites when required.

• Perform mechanical maintenance, repair and refurbishment of existing Krieger equipment.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Automation, Project Management, Quality and Service teams.

• Provide technical guidance and practical support to junior assemblers and workshop personnel.

• Maintain accurate assembly and production documentation.

• Follow Krieger's internal quality procedures and applicable GMP-related requirements.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of assembly methods, workshop organisation and manufacturing processes.

Your Profile

• Completed vocational education or technical training as a Polymechanic, Mechanical Technician, Machine Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, Mechanical Assembler or equivalent.

• Several years of professional experience in mechanical assembly, preferably involving industrial machinery, process equipment or customised engineered systems.

• Strong ability to independently read and work from mechanical and technical drawings.

• Good knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques, tolerances, fits, bearings, seals and precision mechanical components.

• Experience with stainless-steel process equipment, piping systems, hygienic components or pharmaceutical machinery is a strong advantage.

• Experience with pneumatic systems and a basic understanding of automation components is beneficial.

• Strong practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• High level of precision and attention to detail.

• Independent, reliable and quality-oriented working style.

• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary technical team.

• Experience with GMP or pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements is an advantage.

• Good German and English language skills; French or Italian is an advantage.

• Willingness to travel internationally when required for installation, commissioning, service or maintenance activities.
